9:00-10:00 Lecture: Matthew Wood Plant Energetics

The principle of energetics is based on an intuitive analysis, starting with the whole and moving to the major physiological functions or organs and systems. Tridosha (vata, pitta, kapha): is a good place to start for the constitution. For the disease: the 8 parameters (hot/cold, excess/deficiency, internal/external, yin/yang). This can be applied to every organ, system, or function. Yin and yang (water and fire) can be further subdivided: fire, air, water, and earth (four elements). The fifth element wood or wind (China), ether or space (India), amounts to tension (not enough space, too much space; wind–sudden change, wood–slow change). My favorite system is “Animal Medicine.” We’ll give some examples of people and plants.
